Sharing Google Drive Files with Anyone

We love Google Drive - it's great for storage, and even better for sharing. When we need a large project to go to the printer, or to a client for proofing, it is often too large to email. Google Drive makes it easy. You need a Gmail account and once you have that, open your Drive. This can be done by clicking on the 9-dot menu that appear on the top right of your browser window, or by Googling "Google Drive".

Start a folder then drag and drop your files into it, or upload them. For this example, we are selecting a large image. We select the folder or the file and then on the top right select the LINK, not the person + icon. Drop down the menu so it says "anyone with a link" instead of the default that is "restricted." Then a little to the right where it says "view," change that to “edit.”

Select “copy link” and then paste it into the body of an email, and send it to the person with whom you want to have access. That's it. Simple, fast, and always in the same place.
