Feeling Rejected? Facebook Ads

If you are trying to boost or advertise a post on your business page but lately Facebook's been rejecting it, it may be that you fall into the “Special Ad Category.”

Let's say we’re a broker or realtor and are offering a sweet two bedroom on Siesta Key and want to boost the post. Click on the blue box like you normally would, but here's the important thing to remember. Look for special ad category and click this on - it defaults to employment. Click on the little arrow here and select housing. Then you're going to see that Facebook has added restrictions that are legal requirements based on HUD rules. Some categories are set, for instance, it is illegal to discriminate based on gender or age, so you will not be able to make changes here.

Let’s go to the categories you can change. For instance, my default is set to Sarasota. However, you may change the radius to include 50 miles around it. However, you can no longer slim it down to a two mile radius. You know when you wanted to do those little special boosts about a sneak peek Open House for the neighborhood? This can't happen anymore, but you can get much larger in scale. You can make it so you reach additional areas or maybe an entire state or an entire country! That can be done.

When it comes to your target market’s general interests, that has been limited as well so we recommend you select the suggestions that Facebook offers. Click on the ones that are appropriate to your property: condominium, luxury living, etc., there are several to choose from. Once you have made your selections, it is time to click save. If you scroll down and see that you have too small of an audience, add more or increase your area of reach.

The rest of the process should follow the basics of boosts and ads. If this is just too annoying, or you’re too busy, we are here to help. This is our business. Contact us today at Margie@342mad.com or call 941-544-5878.
